Replace your double glazed units

Perhaps your exiting uPVC windows & doors are still working fine, but due to their age they are not as energy efficient as they could be. We can replace your old style double glazed units with new energy efficient units, which will save you money on your energy bills. This may be a more cost effective alternative to completely replacing your windows & doors.

How can I tell if my double glazing is the "old" type?
Newer energy efficient units will usually have a black spacer bar (see pic), if your windows have a silver spacer bar, they are likely the older style. If you are unsure, don't hesitate to get in touch
What makes an energy efficient unit?
Argon gas
Argon gas slows the transfer of heat since molecular movement is so restricted within the gas, far less heat is transferred and far less heat loss occurs.
The space between glass panels in our double glazing is injected with argon, helping improve energy efficiency.

Black thermo-plastic spacer bar
The spacer bar creates the physical contact between the glass, and is therefore decisive for a window’s thermal performance as a direct connection between indoors and outdoors.
In contrast to products made from aluminium (silver spacer bar), our warm edge spacer bars are made from a highly insulating plastic composite material that minimises the loss of heat.

SoftCoat (low-e) coating
Softcoat glass, is an energy-efficient glass that has a transparent coating applied to its surface.
The primary purpose of the coating is to reduce the amount of heat transfer through the window. It achieves this by reflecting a significant portion of the infrared (heat) radiation while allowing visible light to pass through.

Damaged units
Misting
Misting happens when the sealant that bonds the unit together breaks down, and condensation gets inside the unit.
If this happens, we can replace the unit for you.
Smashed/popped
We can make safe and replace your broken double glazing. If your glazing is toughened it will "pop" into tiny fragments, this is a safety feature. In rare events, toughened glass can break spontaeously
Decorative glass
We can replicate all types of decorative glass, including all types of leaded work, coloured glass, Georgian bar, and more.

We also offer Satin obscure glass, and etched satin glass.
Laminated glass
Acoustic
Glass can be laminated to offer better sound reduction through your windows, this may be necessary if you live on a busy road.
Security
If you require additional peace of mind, laminated glass will offer added security to your doors & windows. Laminated glass might have a lower break point than toughened glass but is very difficult to pierce. In some ways laminated glass could be considered stronger as it is more resistant to intrusion.
Safety
Laminated glass eliminates the risk of injury if the glass is broken, it is designed to not shatter or splinter when broken and that avoids injury by holding the glass on the PVB layer.

We can supply & install all types of glass & mirror splash backs for your kitchen. We can match any colour your heart desires. These include Dulux, Farrow & Ball, Pantone and RAL swatches.

Our 6mm thick, toughened glass comes with a 10 year manufacturer’s guarantee, is safe and hardwearing and is heat resistant. our splash backs are hygienic for cleaning, durable and will retain their look for years to come which makes our glass splashbacks the best choice for our clients.

We have many different mirror patterns, such as antique (pictured). We can now even provide toughened mirror splashbacks, which is heat resistant, perfect for behind the hob.

Shop fronts
We can supply and install any size of shop front glass. If your shop front glass has been damaged, we can remove this and dispose of it.

Cat flaps
To install your cat flap into your double glazed window or door, this involves installing a new double glazed unit with a pre-cut hole in the toughened sealed unit.
We will also install your cat flap for you.

We can dispose of your existing glass unit. However, you may wish to keep this as you want to get rid of the cat flap in the future.
